What would a multi voice anthropology of the present tell us about the role that journalism organizations can and should play in the repair (Jackson, 2014), reform and transformation of the field of journalism? The talk draws on Callison and Young’s new book, Reckoning: Journalism’s Limits and Possibilities(Oxford U Press, 2020) to examine how journalism might contribute to communal resilience, historical understandings of societal structures, and robust civic spaces among global and regional audiences that include diverse publics.
