I am a socio-cultural anthropology student with a focus on medical anthropology. My background as a clinical researcher has led to my interests in studying the culture of biomedicine, structural violence in healthcare and the social determinants of health. My past research has been focused on rehabilitation interventions for women and girls with Rett syndrome and developing new diagnostic methods for obstructive sleep apnea. Educated in Physiology, Contemporary Asian Studies and Anthropology at the University of Toronto, I joined UBC’s anthropology department as a Master’s student in 2021.
