About
Dr. Jing’s areas of interest include the archaeology of Shang civilization, early urbanism, culture contact, environmental archaeology, the archaeology of collapse and sustainability, archaic jades, and archaeological ceramics. He has conducted fieldwork in China, Greece, and the United States. His current work has focused on the archaeology in Anyang, the last capital of the Shang Dynasty, in collaboration with the Institute of Archaeology at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Graduate Supervision
Dr. Jing has been supervising graduate students in the field of archaeology, specifically Chinese archaeology, early complex societies, and ancient technologies. Currently, he is available for taking new students who are interested in, but not limited to, the following subjects: the archaeology of early China, ceramic petrography, geoarchaeology, ancient technologies, comparative studies of early complex societies, and the archaeology of sustainability.
