The histories and ongoing effects of Indian Residential Schools include large stories woven from the experiences of individuals. Jacquie Bouvier visits UBC to help us navigate through these discussions about the legacies of these histories and responses of the governments of Canada’s.
Jacquie is Métis, from Saskatchewan; her father was Métis and her mother was Dene/Cree. She is a Survivor of the Beauval and Ile a la Crosse Indian Residential Schools. Jacquie Bouvier is an Indigenous youth counsellor and a member of the Circle of Survivors of the National Advisory Committee on Missing Children and Unmarked Burials.
