UBC’s annual Archaeology Day Symposium will take place Saturday, March 19th 2022 in the Anthropology Sociology Building (in person) as well as virtually through zoom. The topic for the symposium this year will be “Living together”. Denied each other’s company for the good of our collective health, the global pandemic has reminded us that living together is both a threat and a precious gift. We will present papers that broadly explore this theme, ranging from talks exploring how material culture has been central to how we live together as a hyper-social species to those that explore how Indigenous and academic communities can best ‘live together’.
Keynote speech by Dr Bruce Routledge, Department of Archaeology, Classics, and Egyptology, University of Liverpool.
