Please join us for an information session about the Urban Ethnographic Field School (UEFS).
The UEFS is a six-week, six-credit intensive course during the first summer term, with students meeting four days a week (Monday to Thursday). If you’re passionate about ethnography and community engagement, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss! At UEFS you will gain:
- Hands-on ethnographic training: Gain practical experience in ethnographic research techniques, including participant observation, field note writing, in-depth interviews, and interpretative analysis.
- Community engagement: Work alongside local community organizations and Neighbourhood Houses to get a firsthand understanding of urban communities and their needs.
- Research experience that matters: Develop meaningful final projects that contribute to community organizations while honing your research skills.
- Theoretical insights: Bridge classroom theory with real-world practices, exploring topics such as food security, global diaspora, and multicultural communities.
