Research summary:
I am a biological anthropologist and archaeologist with a focus on human osteology, infectious disease, pathology, and trauma. My past research focused on exploring osteological evidence of Yersinia pests in skeletal remains from Black Death victims using various techniques including DNA sequence analysis and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). In addition, I explored the intersection of Black Death with cultural experiences and changes of the medieval Western European population.
