Dr. Lin Bu is an Associate Professor at the College of History and Civilization at Shaanxi Normal University, China. She is a visiting professor in the Department of Anthropology from December 2024 to December 2025.
BU Lin, associate professor in Department of History & Civilization, Shaanxi Normal University, Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China; a visiting professor in the Department of Anthropology of UBC.
I specialized in cultural relics protection technology during my BS from the Northwest University of Xi’an. During my Master of Archaeology at Northwest University, I began training in archaeological excavation, typology study and certification of Chinese ancient porcelain. My PhD research in Northwest University was about the preservation and management of cultural heritage, I investigated most of World Cultural Heritages in China and studied the present state, problems and reasons in the aspects of presentation and interpretation from the perspective of conservation and put forward feasible improvement scheme, then I graduated with archaeology PhD in 2012. I joined the Department of History & Civilization of Shaanxi Normal University in 2003 where I began to teach and do more research on Museology, museum education and public service, public archaeology in China and comparative study between China and abroad. I have been a visiting scholar of a transdisciplinary and transculture program between Shaanxi Normal University and University of Massachusetts, Boston, U.S. from 2012-2013 and given lectures sharing my research about cultural heritage conservation and management in Harvard University, Boston University and University of Arizona.
