About

Dr.Yafei Jiang is an Lecturer at the college of Archaeology at Shandong University, China. He is a visiting lecturer in the Department of Anthropology from December 2024 to December 2025.

I completed my studies in archaeology, from undergraduate to doctoral level, at Shandong University, China. During my master’s and doctoral studies, I have been engaged in research related to the jade articles of the Shang and Zhou dynasties in China. My doctoral research mainly focused on the circulation status of jade articles in the Western Zhou Dynasty. I not only identified and studied the Shang Dynasty jade articles found in the tombs of the Western Zhou Dynasty nobles from perspectives such as archaeological typology and cultural factor analysis, but also made extensive use of documentary materials to explore the use and circulation of jade articles among the Western Zhou Dynasty nobles. Subsequently, I obtained my doctoral degree in 2021.

After completing my PHD, I conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of History at Shandong University from 2021-2024, focusing on a meticulous study of the jade articles recorded in the documents of the Shang and Zhou dynasties. In 2024, I joined the School of Archaeology at Shandong University.
