Seeking Post Doctoral Fellow for Homelessness Community Based Research Project

We are a team of productive, interdisciplinary scholars working on tri-council funded scholarship in homelessness prevention in the City of Kelowna, in support of the Journey Home platform.
We seek a full time post-doctoral student for a 2 year period with the possibility of renewal, in any social science, health, or professional discipline. The successful candidate would work with an experienced team of social work, nursing, medicine, business administration, social science, engineering, neuroscience, and related disciplines in a multi-nodal homelessness prevention research program centered in Kelowna, British Columbia. We have funding, and the successful applicant could begin January 1, 2020 .
Under the supervision of an experienced and well published Principal Investigator, the candidate would develop further skills in:
1. Project management
2. Community based research design and research processes
3. Quantitative and qualitative data analysis
4. Scholarly publishing in tier one journals
5. Knowledge mobilization
6. Community engagement
We seek applicants with academic potential, strong worth ethics, independence of thought, high emotional intelligence, high capacity to collaborate on interdisciplinary teams, and capacity to work with flexibility in community engaged research whose processes continuously evolve.
Background in homelessness research is useful but not essential. Aptitudes, capacities, cheerful work ethic, and ability to learn are essential.
About the School of Social Work
The School of Social Work is also the only accredited MSW program in British Columbia dedicated to clinical social work practice. Its teaching and research are supported not only by the on-campus interdisciplinary Mental Health Clinic, but a strong record of internationally recognized productivity in child welfare, disability, mental health, and homelessness.
The School is situated within the Faculty of Health and Social Development, a dynamic Faculty comprised of Social Work, Nursing, and Health and Exercise Sciences whose complementary research and teaching interests have shaped numerous collaborations. Salary will be $45,000 per year plus benefits.
