Community Engaged Documentation & Research (CEDaR) Space Tour
CEDaR is a collaborative new media space at UBC Vancouver designed to facilitate community-led innovation of relational technologies: tools and techniques grounded in local contexts, politics, and protocols.
The CEDaR tour will be led by Dr. Daisy Rosenblum (UBC Anthropology, UBC First Nations and Endangered Languages). A CEDaR Space co-founder, Dr. Rosenblum specializes in the multi-modal documentation and description of indigenous languages of North America, with an emphasis on methods, partnerships, and products that contribute to community-based language revitalization.

Laboratory of Archaeology (LOA) Tour
Laboratory of Archaeology is a community of scholars whose research focuses on history, culture, and materiality, including Archaeology faculty, staff, students, and postdoctoral fellows who are members of the department of Anthropology, the department of Ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern Studies and various other faculties across campus.
The LOA tour will be hosted by Dr. Aleksa Alaica and PhD student Megan Harris. Dr. Aleksa Alaica (UBC Anthropology) is an anthropological archaeologist that examines human-animal interactions in the past. She employs zooarchaeology (the study of animal bones) that mobilizes key comparative collections in the Laboratory of Archaeology for teaching and research. Megan Harris is a paleobotanist examining the macrobotanical remains of the Chuchuwayha Rock Shelter in the Similkameen Valley of British Columbia.
