Karen Thomas receives Charles and Alice Borden Fellowship

Congratulations to Karen Thomas, who received the Charles and Alice Borden Fellowship for Archaeology for the 2023-24 academic year.

About the Charles and Alice Borden Fellowship

The fellowship is endowed by Charles E. Borden, Ph.D., Litt.D. (h.c.), Professor Emeritus of Archaeology. Dr. Borden’s teaching at UBC and his archaeological research in the Fraser Canyon and other parts of this province set the foundations for Archaeology in British Columbia.

The fellowship is awarded to a qualified candidate in the program leading to the Ph.D., in Archaeology. In selecting the recipient, preference is given to a candidate whose thesis topic is concerned with problems related to the archaeology and cultural history of the Pacific Northwest.
