Welcome Dr. Lin Bu, who is visiting the Department of Anthropology from December 2024 to December 2025.

Dr. Lin Bu is an Associate Professor at Shaanxi Normal University, China. During her visit, Dr. Lin Bu plans to do a comparative research on museum interpretation and presentation between China and Canada.

I noticed most of the historical and cultural museums in Canada are anthropology museums those tell the stories of human in anthropological ways, which is quite different from the museums in China. So I’d like to visit more anthropology museums in universities and cities and some museums of immigration in Canada to observe and investigate how those museums interpret the history of various nationalities and disseminate the human cultures and how the diverse cultures combine and blend in Canada.

Dr. Lin Bu has also been a visiting scholar of a transdisciplinary and transculture program between Shaanxi Normal University and University of Massachusetts, Boston, U.S. from 2012-2013 and given lectures sharing her research about cultural heritage conservation and management at Harvard University, Boston University and the University of Arizona.
